How to Get Metal / Metal Fragments:

If you dont have guns to lose dont roam with them, an Easy way
to get metal is in the desert or snow. But doing green monuments
and recycling is faster.

The northern snow biome areas rarely have players – especially the
middle island up there since there’s only one monument. I basically
live on those islands and only go into the main island when selling/
running monuments.

I usually mine the middle island, then hop eastward for an easy run
for metal + barrels/gas station/etc – generally one run on the eastern
island will get me 12k-20k ore depending on how diligent I am around
finding every node lol

Also – they take up gobs of space, but large furnaces are so much nicer
to deal with than lots of small furnaces. Just make sure to always put
in stacks divisible by 5 or else you’ll have one ore sitting there
burning all your wood.

For metal alloy, I always just hit the railroad tracks and break every
barrel/crate I see, but particularly, hit the traffic lights to get a
pipe, and then go recycle that into 1 alloy. Typical runs I’ve done
net out 50-100 alloy depending how long I stay on the tracks.
