Have been playing Boiling Point with the 2.0 patch for around 15 hours now. Everything seems pretty well fixed. (Have heard a 2.1 is being written though!) This game needs to be re-promoted with the 2.0 patch. It is a different game from the 1.0 reviews everywhere. While it's easy to say Atari should not have rushed the release, the fact is freeform rpg/adventure games with some shooting are a very rare genre. Last title like this was Deus Ex (or Deus Ex 2 if you want!) or maybe System Shock 2.
If you're thinking of getting this game, I would give it a score of 90% with the 2.0 patch applied. Read any review and ignore the negative comments and that's what you have with Boiling Point now. Can highly recommend it. |
