The chaps over at CheatHappens.com have published an interesting article that discusses the recent move by Blizzard to begin banning players found to be cheating in single player games of Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty. Here\'s an excerpt:
ed, for using the trainer for Starcraft 2 created and distributed by CheatHapp

oh, come on, Blizzard. This is stupid-it's just a single player game. nobody is hurt. What if the guy (girl?) is lacking skills or it is too hard for him to beat the game?
Instead of banning, they should be making money on it. There's defenitely a demand, and nobody asked why. Create your own cheats for single player and sell them. Or make it a bundle for Limited Edition. Or whatever. The kid just wants to have fun. |

Fuck those Blizzretarded shit heads and their battle.net crap platform, they created those problems by design and now think they'll get away with it.

You're an Idiot. It's because of piracy and game theft that things are the way they are with games now. Yet you sit there supporting the very idiots that have made companies turn to such drastic measures.
In case the lot of you complaining and bitching continuously about the extreme methods game companies take to protect there intellectual properties haven't realized yet.. read this very closely.. THE PIRATES ARE TO BLAME for all of this. all the online authentication BS all this crap with having to be connected to play is all because of Pirates.
Quit supporting these damn pirates quit being cheap little bastards and just pay for the game stop looking for stupid ways to get it for free.
Any one that supports pirates and thinks there fighting the good fight in game company tyranny is as blind as they are stupid to the cause of said tyranny. |

Piracy isn't as rampant as you seem to think. The extent of monetary loss isn't as great either.
There are quite a few cases and one in particular such as Sins of Solar Empire which has no protection at all that is still supported today and has had expansions even recently.
I can say with confidence that you will find more people that have issues with DRM and getting the actual games to work out of the box trouble free than people pirating any game combined.
Piracy is a scapegoat that is played like a card to help control distribution among other things. Are you that naive to think that brick and mortar stores (chains) don't account for minor thefts? Theft happens and it doesn't seem to bring these companies down to their knees like you seem to think it does in this case.
This attempt is shady at best. How would you like it if you bought a new Corvette and just because you put on some window tint or changed the radio out GM decided to take the car back even though you already paid for it? It's the same scenario with real items costing real money that you own physically. |

I don't know who's the idiot in this case.
When I PAY for MY game it is MINE to do what I WISH. If I buy an electric heater and fancy to break it the next day, it's my business and noone else's. Noone will ban me if I break my heater.
So why the fuck should they ban me on MY SINGLE PLAYER game? For MP I understand it. For SP, they can go drop dead.
This will only give people one more excuse not to buy Diablo III. I said "not buy", not "not play" and this is Blizzard's fault alone.
They do these things, because they think every gamer is a 14yo console owner that can pass to him whatever they want. |

I know Blizzard is bit paranoid what comes to cheating, but
this is just a huge overkill. It is made for SINGLEPLAYER mode and using trainer
does not effect in MULTIPLAYER mode. People have used trainers
on singleplayer games for years to have some fun.
Imagine ID Software doing same when
Quakes were popular, they would have to ban 90% of players
Maybe EA should start to ban Sims-players for using cheats!
Blizzard fails so badly now... |

Any one that supports pirates and thinks there fighting the good fight in game company tyranny is as blind as they are stupid to the cause of said tyranny. | I do understand your point of view but the idiot here is you!!!
What you say is what all those moneysuckers want you to think!!!
They blame piracy for money loss ? Really ?
What money ? The money i'll never spend on their stupid games ?
Are you buying all the games you like, based on trailers, pre-made videos ? Are you one of the retard consumers ?
Since the game makers started to produce dumbed down games for retard idiots, in huge amounts, I am in my right to not spend my money on that crap! And i DONT!!!
That doesnt make me stop to check out what those morons actually offer and if i like it i go out and fukin buy it!!!
Starcraft 2 is the one game i didnt buy because of various reasons! One is this ONLINE only policy!!! Other is that this game is not my game!!! I didnt even play beyond 3rd level...
So tell me, is there a way to return the game after i buy it and play it and get my money ?
No dude, i dont think so - at least not in my country!
The same goes for movies!
It was many years ago that i stopped "eating" the shit they throw at me with trailers and other advertisement stuff.
Fack me but i never heard for a place on this planet that offers a return of your money if you leave the theater before the movie ends, or after if you dont like the fakin movie!!!
So mate, as i says! LONG LIVE THE PIRATES!!! and thank them for the possibility they give me NOT SPENDING MY MONEY ON SOMETHING I MIGHT NOT LIKE!!
p.s. AND dont give me that crap about DEMOS that go out 3-6 months after the game release! (Some companies release demos earlier, this is cool!) |

I think you are missing the point here.
To justify this as a response to piracy is idiotic.
What someone does in the LEGALLY PURCHASED offline, single-player campaign has NOTHING to do with piracy.
Explain to me how piracy has anything to do with someone wanting to cheat in the SINGLE PLAYER campaign?
This is not about piracy AT ALL. And it's not about cheating in the multi-player game either. If it WAS about that, then fine, ban the fuckers. But this has nothing to do with that (assuming it's true). |

There is some complete idiots here..(psolord)..which isn't a surprise.
Every BIT of software you buy is controlled by a license -PERIOD!! You must agree to that license BEFORE installing and/or using it (that's that long winded box of text that you tick that you 'have read and understood' before continuing to install-which happens to have been around for at least 15years that i can remember) One thing is clear here. You DON'T ever OWN software, you BUY a license to use it!!!
The other thing that's wonderfull about PC gaming is that you are not LEGALLY allowed to disassemble nor recompile game code -again in the license agreement. Using a trainer is modifying code to cheat, yeah we've all done it, but now your getting watched by BIG bro and they're obviously monitoring your activities and therefore stopping you from using a trainer for (possible) ONLINE purposes?
As for breaking a heater...sure psolord, you can do that. The point that manufacturers make is that 'they contain no user serviceable parts', so any attempt at repairing your broken heater invalidates the warranty -unless you use an authorised repair centre. In other words; say you stick a bit of tin foil over the contacts of a broken internal fuse and it burst into flames -result your house burned down? Well it would be tough titty =no compensation, no insurance payout.
As long as PC gaming remains connected to the net, the .exe reports back that you've fucked about with code and red lights start flashing on Blizzard's warning desk. YES even SINGLE PLAYER -STEAM anyone???
Welcome to todays wonderful PC gaming experience created for you by asshole anti-piracy measures! |

Hey Dufus, I know what a EULA is and they can shove it.
I was not stating what is forged by law, but what I feel like a user. The game is mine, end of story. If I fancy, I'll tear it apart.
The good thing is, that there's nothing they can do to stop me.
That's why I have turned my back to every kind of online gaming, so they will have no means to control me. I can buy the game and still play the Reloaded version if I want, if they do stupid things like this one. |
