Paul Munn over at Aeropause
measured the power consumption of his PS3 in various modes to see just how much juice the sucker was using:
- Standby: 1 watt.
- Remote Start Standby: 24 watts.
- Idle at the XMB: 158 watts.
- Playing a video or music from the XMB: 160 watts.

| that doesnt look like a whole lot, a reg pc will have a 400ish watt psu and a high end one can use way more. |

Hmm, the LCD panels to go with your PS3 are quite hungry and drink up 150W+ depending on size and brand etc.
Most monitors use a fair bit less, but even so, together they are still using less than a lot of pcs.
I would be interested to see the figures for the xb360. |
