Las Vegas is known throughout the world as one of the best places to gamble. Its casinos have been featured in a plethora of different video games. One unique example is the roleplaying adventure Fallout New Vegas. It is set during an alternate timeline where nuclear war has destroyed much of civilization.

The player spends the start of the game traveling to the remnants of Las Vegas. Some of the casinos have survived the bombs and radiation. It is now known as New Vegas. There are several gambling establishments which the player can visit. It is possible to engage in wagering games and win in-world currency. Each casino features interesting storylines and quests for the character to follow. Alternatively, they might prefer to relax and play cards or slots. The four main casinos of New Vegas each have their own distinct personalities.

Lucky 38

When the player enters the front door they gain access to the main floor of the casino. It contains card tables and slot machines. There is also a VIP lounge and cashier room. This building is the home of a sentient computer called Mr. House. The main character has the option of allying themselves with him. If so then the Lucky 38 casino becomes their new home. Heavily armed robots patrol the building. Therefore, it becomes virtually inaccessible to enemies of Mr. House.

The Tops

The Rat Pack era has heavily inspired the interior design of the Tops. When players walk into this casino they will be greeted by the sound of slot machines and Frank Sinatra music. There are tables for playing blackjack and roulette. It is possible to win large sums on these games. However, once 10,000 chips have been earned a permanent ban will be placed on the main character. A gang called the Chairmen control the Tops. Any weapons must be handed to these NPCs before engaging in the gambling games in casinos.

Ultra-Luxe

This is the most luxurious resort located in New Vegas. A group called the White Glove Society owns it. Their goal is to make the establishment exude class and refinement. Like the Tops blackjack and roulette are the main forms of gambling. Any money won can be spent on food and drinks. The Ultra-Luxe offers fine dining experiences. However, if the player follows the storyline to its conclusion then they can uncover sinister secrets about where the meat comes from.

Gomorrah

The main theme of Gomorrah is vice. It is a shady casino where dangerous figures hang out. There is a wide range of games available to play. There are also several levels of the building which can be explored. One of them contains a VIP lounge with a pool table. Certain parts of the casino are off limits to the general public. If the main character is discovered they could be attacked by security.
