Michael Schumacher Racing World Kart 2002 (Kart 2002) is an interactive 3D Kart racing game that successfully captures the excitement and speed behind the sport. The game is based around the start of Michael Schumacher's career. It may sound weird but, while Michael Schumacher may be the world's top F1 driver he began his racing career driving Karts. He was the winner of the German and European Karting championships in 1987, and in fact still runs several Kart centers in Germany. Kart 2002 features 3 different race classes and karts (100, 125 and 150cc.) with different handling/race behavior, 16 tracks (based on real Kart tracks) with various difficulty levels and online ranking.
Kart 2002 is pretty easy game to play. You can choose from three different race types: Training, Time Trial and Championship, each offering there own variation of a race type such as race against the clock, race against computer controlled opponents, etc. Once you get into the race you will find that controlling the kart is really easy, you don’t need to worry about shifting gears and the kart will never tip over. The kart's seems to be fine-tuned to simulate real driving conditions, only I didn't like to play against dumb AI of opponents. The game includes an additional Online mode, but it only allows competing against the clock and posting your record-breaking times on the Internet (www.msracingworld.com) where you can win some prices. Sadly Kart 2002 offers no multiplayer options, neither online, via a LAN, or even on the same computer. Over all, this is quite fun game for casual players and boy racers.
