Leadfoot: Stadium Off Road Racing
(hx) 02:56 AM CEST - Jun,01 2001

Developed by Ratbag Software (Dirt Track Racing, Dirt Track Racing Sprint Car), Leadfoot is a simulation racing game reproducing the fast paced fun of the sport of stadium off road racing. The name of the sport (stadium off road racing) describes the game perfectly. Pick a car (anything from a 400hp dune buggy to a 1000hp gutted truck), your arena, the number of opponents, and race. Leadfoot features two classes of vehicles (Super Lites and Sport Trucks), each class has over three different vehicles, quite true physics model with realistic jumps, Career Mode (race through over 180 events across 15 series races to become World Champion), sponsorships to pay for vehicle upgrades, and multiplayer up to 10 players on LAN and Internet (human players only). The graphics aren't the best in the world, seems the graphic engine in Leadfoot is similar to that used in the previous games, also the sound effects aren't much excellent and are very limited in number. Gameplay is nothing for Europeans men, but Americans and Australians gamers will probably like this game. Leadfoot allows to have from 1 to 15 fellow racers on the track, with up to 99 laps available. Damage can be realistic, arcade, or totally disabled etc. In addition the game includes interesting feature - the replay mode. So instead of the standard "watch the cars go from some set angles" you can export the whole thing to an AVI file for trading with friends. Download playable demo (8.6MB).

I tried the demo, the graphic was ok but not impressive, the sound effect was very bold, all I heard was the annoying engine sound. Car damage was well done but the overall physics were poor.

Hmmm, no different to any of their other games if you ask me. Do something new ... please!
