America is a real-time strategy game which covers 90 years of US history. The game is set just after the Civil War, so you can take charge of the development of the western United States. America trying to follow the style and gameplay of the Age of Empire series. Alike Age of Empires, America asks game players to wisely manage resources (timber, gold, food), explore the world around them and survive the onslaught of warring races (Native Americans, Settlers, Mexicans, and Bandits). In addition, there are new twists like the ability to steal, mount, and dismount horses, control herds (if up to 10 cows or horses can be called a herd), guide wagon trains, and that's all over and through a suitably western 3D landscape. America features well done graphics include real time effects and shadows, superior AI, realistic battle formations and automatic Trading. The game includes 4 campaigns: Indians, Americans, Mexicans, and Desperados and 15 different maps. You can choose from different levels of difficulty and at least 10 missions per nation. In addition, each nation has distinctive appearances, abilities, strengths and weaknesses, even each individual has 3 visual statistics at all times: Life, Morale, and Experience. The game graphics is well done, people are well rendered, the landscape bright and detailed, and the wildlife depictions are also very good. America is played from the aerial viewpoint, which allows for a very decent perspective. Controls are simple to understand, especially if you have played Age of Empires before. Although America isn't so good game like Age of Empires, seems to be another classic RTS game to play. Try this playable demo (128MB).
