Project Eden is a sci-fi-themed squad-based 1st/3rd person action adventure from the creators of the original Tomb Raider. In the game you actually control a team of 4 members of the UPA (Urban Protection Agency) - an elite force which deals with serious disturbances within the city, switching between them as needed. The team is initially called in to investigate problems at the "Real Meat" factory, in which all the equipment has started to simultaneously malfunction. Technicians sent to repair the machinery have gone missing without explanation... Here begins The UPA's sinister trail of inquiry. The characters each have specific skills: the leader, Carter, can open certain doors, Amber is a fully armoured cyborg able to withstand all sorts of hazardous environments such as lethal gas, hot steam and electrically charged water, Minoko baby (20 years old) is able to hack computer terminals to override security doors etc, and the last team's engineer Andre can repair damaged electrical devices. That sounds almost like a RPG, but it isn't, because the skills don't develop, and their actual implementation is marginally creative and a little frustrating. Don't expect much action here, puzzle solving is far and away the majority of gameplay. So if you expect shooting, you will be disappointed pretty soon, because combat was not implemented as well as the puzzles. Simply, combat is very boring. Instead Core tried to make this game easy playable (though I don't think it's easy playable rather at times frustratingly difficult) for example you cannot break the game by doing things in the wrong order, your characters automatically climb (there is no jump button), you cannot even properly die - if a character dies, it take a few seconds to regenerate at the last Regen Pod you passed. Overall, Project Eden is quite enjoyable game, especially for these who likes action adventures with tons of puzzles. Download playable demo
snd: 3/5 - only mediocre, simple sound effects
gfx: 4/5 -
solid & colorful, great level design, cinematic feel, textures are a little blurry
playability: 4/5 -
lots of challenging, multi-step puzzles, simple interface, co-op multiplayer (TCP/IP, IPX) up to 4 players (with limited weaponry and lack of violence), boring story and pathetic combat

|bad graphics. 2D graphics are so bad these guys should have used 3D GRaphics.
the characters look like paintings not people.
explosions are not employed realistically.
THE "G" in the bottom left corner of the screen is quite annoying and stupid.
damage underrated when your hit.
enemies too easy too kill.
game has a stupid radar circle.
internal game lag. game is too slow.
not enough action.
lame interaction with field characters.
most of the levels are easily defeatable no brain required.
dumb weapons. no hand-hand combat weapons. no superkicking moves from the characters or punching or fliping.
GRAPHICS=bad graphics(2D graphics).
game challenge=no brain required
0-25% pathetic games
25-50% might be somewhat enjoyable maybe rent it probably avoid it
its a game that you play 24/7 cause it rules
22% > 0 and < 25
there Project Eden is a pathetic game.
character evasion moves not available.

|Very creepy atmosphere once you get past the first level. Engaging and innovative play, but the real standout is atmosphere aided by superb level design and some inspired enemy character design. Not a perfect game, as it has some bugs and crashes occasionally, but on the whole it takes the survivor horror genre forward intelligently and artistically. If you're into dystopian visions of the future, check it out.|
