As long as we are warned in advance, we can skip the telemarketer slop. M$ is really trying hard to be hated as much as possible. Do they not see Steam OS and other applications that run games under different Linux distros?! I guess they are still counting that as <1% of users. That is going to change, it already is.

It's granted because it has a new business model behind it. I guess the first step in the patent starts with "microsoft windows" and it makes it unique to boot.

PS. You didn't get it - all games running under windows OS will now be subject to be interrupted with ads.
What do you mean "didn't buy any MS games" ? Ads will be served in any game under windows.

They need to realise we are paying them money already.
They add ads they need to make a free tier and add those ads to the free service.
PAID means NO ADS. They add ads, we stop paying. Easy as that.

They add ads, we disconnect and go fully offline.
PCs are looking a lot better these days. Get a PC, make it offline and enjoy your games your way with NO ads.
They add ads, you remove them. use ads blockers etc.
They are going too far here.

Honestly, it’s all starting to make me feel pretty sick. The world is getting greedier and greedier, and it’s getting worse every day. I wish I could go back to the early 90s - no internet, no mobile phones. We were all better off then.

Those old games—the ones where you could play over LAN at most—were more than enough for me. I still love playing Warzone 2100, Quake, and the like. Sure, modern games have beautiful graphics and sound; they look amazing. But I don't feel like they're any more fun than things used to be. Plus, before you can even play, you have to keep paying for something, and then once you actually own the game, they want you to pay all over again. It’s a totally fucked-up world, really. Smile
