Clive Sinclair put a two-inch pocket television on a stand at London’s Television and Radio Show on 22 August 1966.

Press photos from Earl’s Court that day call the Sinclair Microvision the world’s first complete pocket set: a tiny CRT, six penlight cells, thirteen UK channels.

I still have a pocket colour TV, which ran on 4 AA batteries. It has a telescopic arial. Very advanced for its time.
I also have a small 6” portable B&W set, which you could run on batteries or plug into an adapter. Basically a shrunken CRT. They still work but because of digital switching, they don’t pickup an analogue signal.

I remember one time at the top of a high hill in Scotland, I brought the colour one out to get the football results. Like, so far advanced.

I don’t know where they get the 13 channels, as we only had BBC1,2 and ITV.
