The CPU clearly has an impact on frames, so why not test how an otherwise identical-ish PC performs?
AMD seems better to me, consistently draws less power and often provides slightly higher frames. But of course they're comparing to previous gen Intel here. |

Depends. If you compare these two to intel's 8700 and ryzen 1700 difference is huge no matter the gpu. Buying a better gpu will make more difference, but it will cost a lot more money. |

Even then, you are not testing the CPU.
You are testing the motherboard's ability to feed the GPU with data. |
