Microsoft's new Windows 11 operating system is here. It includes a new UI, redesigned Start menu, an overhauled Microsoft Store, and much more. Microsoft likens Windows 11 to a familiar family home that's been renovated, but have the renovations been completed?

If any of you decide to waste time on Windows 11, I'd appreciate an unbiased summary.
Thanks! |

I was forced to fiddle around with it. A friend asked me to do a clean installation of Win11 after he did the upgrade from 10 to 11 and install and set up everything for him. Taskbar was back to the usual layout within 5 seconds, barely took 5 clicks to make. Everything else seems to be literally the same, just a bit dumbed down. Old control panel is still there, Godmode still works, Internet Explorer is gone for good, but otherwise its just Win 10 with a slight design overhaul.
I'm not going to install it on my own desktop though. 10/2025 is still far off and knowing how MS treats its upgrade policies, you will surely be able to upgrade to 11 from 10 even in September 2025. Plenty of time left. |

Then you are fucking blind. No clock on 2nd/3rd displays, whole bunch of missing options throughout the OS, stripped out. Literally dead taskbars on other displays. Like it was designed for only 1 display. Including tons of missing taskbar functionality. Like moving it around, sizing and drag and drop. Fucking stupid widgets nobody cares for.
Hopefully you don't get paid for your analysis. Cuz it sucks.
Here's something for your accessing skills, go to Control Panel, in the address area and type in c:\ and press enter. Tell me what you see? I'll tell ya, the old File Explorer from Win 10.
This is typical example of a user Win 11 is suitable for. Clueless and don't even know what they had/don't have. YA WIN 11 GREAT!
Win 11 is a downgrade not an upgrade. If ur a blind fool who gets an erection over a centered taskbar. This OS is for you. |

whats up with that hostility Tom? Wtf? Are you having your period?
I was never going to get paid for my 0,02 here. I was asked by a friend to do a clean install for him since he is peasant AF and doesn't know how to do it properly. Also, it was a single-screen laptop, not a multi-monitor setup. I was just installing stuff and having a look around the OS while doing that. I wasn't specifically looking for what exactly changed - put the start button where it belongs, installed drivers, few game clients and let a few games download for him through my connection, tested it around a bit and that was it. And yes, file explorer is still the same too. And you know what? You won't believe it, but device manager and event viewers still look exactly the same as they used to back in Windows 7 ;D Not sure what your point is but I guess I don't even care ...
Did you even read my comment properly, or did you just fly over it? I never had an erection over Win11, I'm even saying in my post that I'm going to stick with Win10 for as long as it is possible. Dipshit. |

First of all Windows 11 is not an upgrade. Do you even follow tech? big help you are to your friend putting him on a shitty version of windows.
Second of all, you are blind. How you could not tell how so many things are gone? You are not very observant.
I was on and off Windows 11 in the same f'ing day! I was appalled!
Then you are talking to #1 MS hater, Csimbi. Simple answer. It sucks worse than Win10. |

You know, peeps at our company have already tried it.
They said, it works fine.
I guess they don't care about the things they are missing.
Not yet, anyhow.
I have one question though.
If there were so many things ripped out, how come the footprint it so big and how come it performs worse than Windows 10?
Sound like a paradox. |

Windows XP was like that. It just grew and grew as you used it. This has probably got so much drm bloat in it that it’s like downloading nanotechnology that will just monitor everything you do and adjust itself accordingly. The very fact it ‘hates’ people’s hardware if it doesn’t meet its criteria, is enough to know to forget ever owning it. I won’t. So fuck knows what I’ll be doing for gaming when win10 is obsolete. Linux does nothing for the amount of games I have. Besides, do you think that people will take win 11 when there will be millions of PCs that can’t ‘upgrade’ to it. Both mine and my wife’s laptops failed on CPU. -out of curiosity. |
