| Wait, so, other stores are giving crap for free and Valve is still doing better than them?! Amazing. Business model where one is bleeding money and the other is not and they are successful?! So you sue them for that. You still have more money to bleed! Good one. |

I don't see anything wrong here.
If you want to sell your shit on Steam, it will cost the same as elsewhere.
Ergo, the competition is not going to be about the price.
The difference boils down to the Steam client and your cut.
You think Steam users like the Steam client? Fuck that. It's a piece of bloated shit lately. So, the client itself is not really a differentiator anymore.
The choice is yours: if you don't like Steam, take your ship to Epic or MS that will both devalue your games real quick.
You decide whether you want a little money quick or you want more in the long run. For the record, I'd love to get physical copies as usual.
Fuck Epic, fuck MS, fuck Steam and fuck these greedy studios.
Release your titles on DVDs in all regions.
Your games will reach more people than Steam, Epic or MS combined.
Will they buy it on DVD? Probably not.
You need to focus on quality and production costs instead of your cut with Steam.
If it's a game worth having, it pay for itself on Steam.
Putting a shitty game on Steam does not guarantee sales figures. |
