| Bloody hell!!! This smoke looks awesome! And the characters are all normal-mapped and seem to have folds on their clothes. I wonder when they'll start to simulate all clothes independantly from the body movement in shooters. I know VirtuaFighter for nextgen has this feature, I wish I could at least gaze at it for a minute. |

| Yes it does look very impressive. I'm with you on the moving clothes thing.. I been asking that since Quake3, lol. I'm still in denial that COD 2 will look that good. Too bad kinda, cuz all it is is a ANOTHER boring war fps..Despite the great GFX, gonna stick with DDOS attack EA and their BF2, memory leak infestation wonder of a game..(but i say this, once COD2 hits shelfs it's likely on my pc, doh) |

Back in the Quake3 days it was impossible to simulate cloth in such way ( I mean whirling and folding as an independant object ), but it would be possible in a relatively small time span which is about 2 or 3 years ( that seems like a more or less realistic period ).
Man, well I liked COD, so I'm waiting for the next installment. Yes, there are better games, but it's still ok if not good. |

| Was pretty sure the Final Fantasy series had moving clothing.. could be wrong.. and that was Quake3 time. All I was saying was, I have been thinking same thing with clothes blowing etc, be nice. |

Unfortunately I didn't witness FF, so I could be wrong in my previous statement
And as for war, tub0rg, have you ever seen real war video? Well, you shouldn't. A battle in a city is totally different from any games (can't say that about Flashpoint, haven't seen it). There are no tracers, a person falls and you see the bloody pool growing underneath him. It is so stupid and simple I can't even describe. It is indeed ugly, but not so bloody as in SOF.
Though I do like when games have blood |

im didnt mean when u tap someone in the cheast with an assault rifle that he should disintergrate and stuff... but most war games dont even have hit textures battlefield had virtually no blood and a shot to the haed with an .30 or even .50 is messy. hand graneds and rpg or tows, tank shells or cluster bombs should have an realistic effect on the bodies too... and then ull need it sof like....
i only mentiond it because its the only game i know wich had hit textures and destructable bodies even thou of course u cant chop of and limb with an ak or m4 in war they use bigger guns too ... |
