IGN has shared two videos, showing 25 minutes of gameplay footage from MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries. The game will be powered by the Unreal Engine 4, will support mods as well as 4-player co op, and is currently planned for a December 2018 release.

Well, most of the graphics looks fine, but the interface is in a pittyfull state and no way near MWO at the moment. Given its alpha and the player played on semi-godmode (low damge-taking, way to much ammo) and isnt a good player it should be fine. But therer is much work to do for the final game. |

Looks good, and I am happy to see you can actually use the terrain to your advantage this time (like in MW2), but:
- enemy AI looks pretty stupid (they don't seem to be coordinated in any way and they don't look for and use cover either). Also, they seem to get stuck at places (cannot maneuver away).
- laser and various projectiles seem to pass through grass, trees and so on - instead of lighting those up. WTF?
- I can't believe that a tree that's taller than the mech can't stop the mech - or, at least trip it over. Same goes for all buildings; the rubble should trip the mech over at the very least because they can't raise their legs that high.
PS.
I still think it's the wrong engine.
Must be moddable or game is dead. |
