GamersNexus looks in depth at Fallout 4's graphics settings and performance on PC. The below Fallout 4 PC benchmark tests FPS performance across nVidia and AMD GPUs, including the GTX 750 Ti, 960, 970, 270X, 285, 390X, and many more. VRAM and memory consumption is also looked at loosely below, hopefully establish

Enhanced Wasteland Preset

Enhanced Wasteland is a ReShade/SweetFX Preset.
The goal of this preset was to slightly add more vibrance to the wasteland environment in Fallout 4 and make it appear less washed out.
There is also usage of other settings that I think make the game look better.

You can check out the screenshots to see how it will look in-game.
Features:
• SMAA
• FXAA
• CA
• LUMASHARPEN
• LIFTGAMMAGAIN
• VIBRANCE
• CURVES
• SERPIA
• DITHER

Yeah I guess first out the door fps will be down a bit but then that depends on your settings. Turn off the lame AA and it will be 60fps easy. On a GTX 960 anyway...

Dunno where these bechmarks come from.
I am playing in ultra detail on GTX 780 (turned off Depth of Field only) and it runs smoothly (30+ FPS).
It's ugly as hell as expected from the early screenshots, found a few bugs and controls suck real bad (can't be configured the way I want it + mouse lag as usual).
Landscape seems pretty small.
Story so far sucks (I am level 8 ).
The dog IS handy, I wish it was more active though and not be in my way (I hit it quite often).
I expected a better (more extensive) perk list.

Ya I am playing Ultra on my 260 and the only thing turned off is AA. Don't know and didn't care what my FPS was as it was silky smooth.

The game isn't ugly as hell. It's actually an improvement on the old one. And actually was surprised how many buildings you could go into. Someone was saying lots of buildings look like solid blocks. Sure every single house is not open but right now for me, 90% at least I have walked through. I'm not level 8 yet, maybe close but I already found a few PIP boys. I think, if you are looking for photo-realistic gfx then it's not here but gfx are improved over last game.

Controls suck? How so. My mouse and keyboard work fine. Mouse lag? None here.

Story, I agree, it's a little choppy but if you go abouts reading stuff on the terminals in the vaults, the gaps are filled in. But ya I guess you end up in the vault pretty quickly in the game with little dialogue in the form of cutscenes. Big deal. Makes you wonder though what's taking up the 24GB this monster of a game is.

Dog I use more as a distraction while I kill the bad guys. The dog gets injured hurt all the time. I don't even bother with a stimpack, he heals on his own. I don't care if the dog is whimpering, ain't worth my stimpack. LOL!

Perk list is fine to me. Maybe this will be an addon-type stuff in the future? Sufficient to me for now.

I've played about 4 hours. Not rushing through the game and taking my time as always looking around. The game is fun, just as the previous ones are. I guess if you are looking for ground breaking stuff it's not in this game. It's a continuation of the series and the interface is a slight bit adjusted (perhaps even considered console-ish). But I like it, it will be fun and keep my interest.

Is it what I expected? Pretty much, same game as last time with slightly better gfx, lighting and stuff is good. FPS wise it's crazy good for me. Only thing I hate so far is having to hit the Tab key to go back. Why isn't it ESC or Backspace. Anyway... Worth the $48 I paid for it.

Small world?... yeah, so small... No idea wtf you are talking about. World seems just the same as last time. I didn't pull out a measuring tape myself. LOL! You can pretty much run endlessly if you choose or fast travel once discovered.

Like any game it has bugs. So far they are not game critical. Just stupid things like sleeping on a mattress but not being fully on it, depending on where mattress is located. Game has not crashed or anything for me. I'm not even running latest drivers.

I give it an 8/10 right now. It's more or less what I expected. It's a followup nothing ground breaking.

Then you are one of those playing with the WASD keys.
I prefer the cursors.
Most keys you can't remap.

The worst is that the keys are inconsistent:
- sometimes exit is TAB, ESC or Enter.
- sometimes pickup is 'E', some other times it's Enter.
- sometimes 'R' is scrap, sometimes it's pick up all, sometimes it's local map.
Dunno what incompetent bastards have designed the keymap this fuckturd way.

I found mouse tweaks to disable smoothing and such rubbish, so mouse is ok now.

Let's get back to that houses are empty blocks once you have found you second bobblehead (which I just did) and you built your first settlement.

Yeah, seen uglier. But expected a lot more from a 24Gb download. Skyrim with the HD textures is this much.
Found some shaders that improve the ugliness a bit.

Ya I found 3 so bobbleheads so far.. but I'm pretty sure I'm nowhere near level 8. I just finished offing that big creature in the town, I think the museum where you off all the bad guys..

I have a Razor mouse.. haven't touched it, works fine. Haven't touched a single config file or anything. Game runs flawlessly so far. I think it's the same exact engine as before. Sure feels like it. Just gfx updated.

I turned off AA, only useless feature that chews up GPU. Rest is set to Ultra.

Ya, there is weirdness in the controls and yep, using WSAD. I'm sure they'll allow for better key mapping. But this is a console first world right? So I wouldn't hold my breath.

I'm kind of hoping that the 24GB is more than 20 hours of playing.

I dont get that sweetfx preset.
in a game that relies on the bland colours for incredible mood, turn wibrance to max and have colours oversaturate.
Just play serious sam.

Another thing that's becoming a major annoyance is scrapping.
Why can't I open the workbench and select 'scrap everything' (in the junk list at least)?

Depends on which preset you use.
There are presets that make it even more post-apocalyptic and dark.
I hate the haze though.

Ya well again, it's a console world. PC is an afterthought. I'm waiting and can handle the nuisances of the game for now. Still haven't made it to Diamond City yet, lol, having too much fun just exploring. You know I was thinking last night, be really cool to have a bow or crossbow in this game. I had one in Vegas...hope someone ports that over. A sword would be cool too.

There's the machete - has pretty decent stats unlike in FO3.

Machete is a knife, but ya. Cool. Haven't collected that yet actually.

Found a sword called Shishkebab (there's a tiny flamethrower attachment on it, hehe). It's part of a quest.
Lame damage though - machete can be upgraded to better stats.
