Far Cry 4 looks like 5 times better.

Ok different worlds, but still...

I guess after 20GBs of patches and texture packs it will be ok. It's Bugthesda after all.

enable VSR/DSR, disable smudgy FXAA/MLAA. It's about the story and things you can do and for world that big it's isn't too shabby. God, I can believe I am defending betfukesda and fallout....but I am apparently.

@gx-x I'm with you.

It's not about gfx, and imho it looks believable enough. I'm for the story, exploring world, modding and game play.

Looks great to me. Quite aside from the fact that I'm not generally going to be sitting around admiring the graphics while I'm playing a game, the story and the action (and interaction) is the main draw.

Hell, would people really say that something like Zelda, the Wild Wanker... errr... Wind Waker, I mean, wasn't a good game just because the graphics are not ultra-realistic?

Fallout 4 is going to be a strong contender for game of the year, with or without even more realistic textures. I still think Witcher 3 should take it, but we'll see, have (obviously) not played Fallout 4 yet.

It does *not* look like a game that warrants for a whooping 8gb *minimum* requirement that's for sure. The buildings look completely solid, the textures look quite terrible to be honest, recycling them all over the place, it's kinda bad when they look the same.

videos on YT show that the game looks decent. Much better than these screenshots. It's like someone found the worst possible things to screenshot.

I've tried a pirated copy with the latest patch.
The atmosphere is nice, like in previous Fallout.
Sounds and music are good to very good.
The graphic is better then Fallout 3.
Animations are stiff.
The UI is horrible.
The game is boring, and everything you try to do is frustrating.
The dog is a useless nuisance barely good enough to kill some insect.
The dialogs are 2 steps back compared to fallout 3.
Combat is a little worse then Fallout 3.
Everything is a chore instead of fun.
In short, I would like to explore the world but feels like working to pay a debt.
I've deleted it.

That's a good summary, from my cloudy memory, about right.

I am doing a third run through it so I wouldn't agree with his observation. There is mod for dialog that returns old style of dialog, so that is not a problem. Everything else is pretty much the same as fallout 3. It's no more or less chore to play FO4 once you just ignore minutemen and their silly "build this and that". I don't think the "build" module is good but I don't think you are meant to make pretty things with it, just plant some food, water and place turrets.
