According to Gamespot, Titanfall beta runs natively at 792p on Xbox One:

The Xbox One version of Titanfall, at least in its current beta form, does not run in native 1080p. Instead, Respawn Entertainment community manager Abbie Heppe told the Titanfall Blog that it currently runs in 792p, but could be closer to na

The Xbox one, is truly turning out to be a gutless piece of junk, not to mention featureless. Titanfail indeed.
Up scaling is NOT acceptable. Certainly not on a AAA title that's getting pumped up as an Xbox exclusive - other than PC.
Excuses,excuses unbelievable.
Why do people think it's ok and justify it?
Sad bunch out there, indeed.

since when is 900p native of anything? These new consoles just reveal what I have been saying for years: you can swap human developers with half-ass trained monkeys and you wont notice a difference. Developers are overpayed lazy scum that half-ass everything they are asked and payed to do. New gen of consoles was required so that everyone can see this and can't just say "well, you need to consider 10000000 hardware combinations on PC". Ok, here are the new consoles with hardware matching some mid-range PC and it's is constant. What is the excuse now?
You might as well outsource everything to India and China and pay 2$ per developers hour instead of 20$ to some "first world" developer...When they loose their jobs maybe they will start to appreciate things a bit more.

Remember, this is the generation of developers who just want it easy. They have grown up with little knowledge, other than an SDK. It's just about churning out with little effort to make lots and lots of moolah.
Nothing is original anymore. Everything has crossed to PC or console or vice versa. Very few games are borne exclusively for PC.
Blame this generation. Tablets, phablets, phones everything is about a '10 minute attention span', then it's a success.
I just recently went back to play Falcon 4 and it took me three evenings of reading just to do basic navigation, comms and to get to know the hard points again. That wasn't even trying the campaign. 30 button configuration on my HOTAS. To think I played military flight sims exclusively for the best part of 10 years or so.
Yeah it's sad, but it's over. Everything is like Apple products, six months lifespan then the next 'wonderful' incarnation....
You can't blame just consoles, PC gaming is just so niche and bloody expensive! Hardware hasn't exactly dropped in relative terms, graphics cards are just stupidly priced and never offer the bang for buck that they give nor the reliability. Imagine buying a TV, sound system, washing machine, fridge freezer that packed in or was phased out every 2 years for 600-800 bucks? Erm don't think so.
We're a gullible stupid bunch.
Plus of course, where does a brand new PC gamer find a 'standard' to get into the hobby? There isn't any. Over 25 years I've seen and helped so many gamers on the likes of simHQ or combat sim to build rigs and it's just so overwhelming to them. Bearing in mind I was gaming using win95/98 and hardware conflicts were a pain! Today is the other way around; its easy to buy a gaming machine of reasonable spec, but then people lack the knowledge to understand what they have bought! And it ain't upgradeable!! Plus they just want to PLAY. Lol

You are right Stumpus but I am not even getting into the content of the, for instance, games, I am at the surface, or rather at it's core - that is almost always flawed/badly codded. I am not expecting every coder to be the John Caramack, I am expecting them to at least have learned a half of what he has learned. It has been digested for them over the years.
Hell, at this point I would be happy with developers just giving a fuck about the projects they are hired to do.

I mean, take this game for example (Titanfall), you can market it all you want, advertising dept. can (and will) bust their asses off on the end product that will enrage thousands of buyers. Why? Typical recipe: Game will be released way to early and have tons of bugs. It will be overly demanding (already showing it's ugly teeth on consoles by running in stellar 700ish p ), average looking, stuttering, disconnecting, bad net code, login issues bla bla. New consoles will run it just like previous gen ones would (720p at best), and on PC you will need 200$ CPU, 250$ GPU to play a game that is no way (technically speaking) better than the game from 2 years back that can now be ran with 50$ cpu and 80$ gpu.
And again, why? Because why not. Because all the "effort" that was put into optimizing, testing and re-testing before release.

No wonder that dude from EA is offended by the journalist who pointed out mistakes with BF4 and SimShitty. He doesn't see any flaws, game loads, and works, lot's of people bought it, profit was good. In his eyes, both games were perfect. He played neither of them. He took his share, bought a new car, fucked a new whore and played golf at Hawaii resort. There was/is nothing wrong with BF4 and SimShitty...

You do know Apple's next incarnation was an epic fail, so they had began selling the previous incarnation before they loose the entire market to Android, right? The fact the Android is a piece of crap, too, like Apple, does illustrate your point well.
I wonder when the same thing will happen in the computing world (Windows 9, games, apps, etc.). Linux gaming is around the corner, so MS has much to loose.

And when Linux gaming comes, problems that plague windows will come along it. Linux is good now because no one gives a shit about it (spyware, malware, hackers, bots, industry). When gaming comes to linux then we shall see how good linux really is at it's core and how well can it can handle real stress...I am holding high hopes since windows went into this..this...crap metrosexual direction....

Great comments guys. I was only using Apple as a metaphor, basically they coined the 'churn over', like a sugar addict. Get them hooked and they wont try anything else. Yes Apple failed but they still returned profit, now they are onto the iPhone 6.
Yes, once something becomes popular it attracts flies like $hit, re Linux.
What is ironic I looked back at the forums I used to frequent in 1994 and flight sims that I had gave up on decades ago are STILL being modded and improved on over 20 years later. It's crazy, there is still an active market for the PC but not the mega bucks that the simple-minded masses buy today.
The community patch these games for win 7 or provide fixes. Bloody wasted talent.
Governments are also to blame for the turn over in technology and general waste. The more turn over the better the tax they get.
Look at cars? I used to strip and rebuild cars in my sleep, now it's blanking plugs on everything and it all has to lawfully be done at a garage as you can't get the bloody tools to strip, and rebuild. If you do 'tamper' it can't leave the country ie Europe.

Most stuff in the house could be repaired or buying spare parts to an extent. Now it's 'no user serviceable parts inside'.
There used to be tv repair shops in the street!
The PC is the only thing we can still dabble in, but it's a helluva expensive hobby.
You wonder why males today can't do DIY or basic household repares like wallpapering, painting , tiling, basic electrical stuff? It's a throw away world now and males today wear as much makeup as women!
What a $crewed up world guys.......

Btw, check out this use of Linux Laughing
