Steam is getting ready to show off its entry into the console gaming market to compete with the Xbox One and PS4 at CES in Las Vegas this coming January, but who will make up the market for the $500 Steam Machine?
The obvious choice is PC gamers, as thereÂ’s some sort of notion that PC players would love to transfer

I'd take a steambox if it offered really good price for hardware and more uses than just steam gaming, ie a renderbox, mediaplayer, nas, linux server, etc but as far as living room gaming pfff, they haven't even got console games on it only pc titles that are generally better with kb+m
valve are on there own little world.and I only care to see titles equivalent of halflife3 or left4dead3 out of them, seeing as they haven't done fuck all since portal2. well excluding shit like dota2 or cs:go but those are just fking bad mutiplayer only type games. |

You're just a whiny ass little pussy.
The keyboard mouse is still going to be available.
You don't buy a Steam box to play console shit. Are you for real? It will play whatever you gaming PC will.
The only one in their own little world is you pal and lonely fucked up one at that.
I plan on getting one, given the price is reasonable and I'll be able to do more than just load steam and play games. From what I understand, most of what PS and Xbox crap can do with media will be available in the steam box. It is essentially a real PC in a small form factor case.
I may have confused others in another post but there will be the option to interchange parts, HD, video card and expand memory. I was talking about some vendors who might try and ship the boxes with proprietary shit. They won't be able to call it a Steam box though.
One way or another the Steam box will kick the shit out of PS4 and Xbone crap. |

Haha, why would you spend $500 on a Steambox to use it as a NAS? This has to be the dumbest comment I've read on here in a while. |

A NAS requires very little resources - other than disk read/writes - so I don't see why it shouldn't be able to serve files to other devices while doing all the other things listed there.
Though, if it does all the things Koogle listed, it would not be a steambox anymore; it would be a PC. I'd welcome at least some of those though; most importantly the choice of my own firewall software.
So far, I am undecided. I am leaning towards ignoring steambox like any other boxes lately, but I will wait for a few reviews until I make that decision. (Or news about steambox limiting the user in ways I don't like, spying in your home, etc.) |

obviously your tiny pee sized brain mist the gist of what I was talking about with the steaming shitbox not actually have the same catalog of consolized exclusive games available to xbox or ps4.
Instead only PC games.. which if you look on steam is pretty fucking full of crap and old titles going by the steamsales. Nothing at all worthy of needing a steambox with a propriety steaming shit controller. |

My pea sized brain is bigger than your sperm sized brain Koogle. All over the place and mostly missing the target.
I wont even bother with your post because it's just utterly fucking stupid like most of the trash you write. It's not my fault you can't understand it. |

It is a complete fail and it hasn't even been released, they only way valve could make it work is they forced everyone to have to go through that steaming shit just to play the games off the steam library they already own.
It's how steam succeeded in the first place with scumbag valve removing the wow system and forcing everyone to get drm steam accounts.
Not my fault you are to stupid to see it. Also I'm always on target and always right you should know that by now dummy. |

Shaddup, everything coming out of your mouth is just totally idiotic.
Everyone has to go through that steaming shit?.... and they don't on an Xbox or PS3? No? Fuck it's even more fucking pathetic on either console. Like Sony's fucking useless profile system and super fucking lag interface.
You're always right?! HAHAHAHAHAHHAA! You fucking delusional fucking moron. LOL!
You are so shallow minded that you dwell on DRM, something that will never change. You moan about it yet Xbox and Playstation are FILLED with it. Seriously do you even have a fucking clue? Fuck it must be a challenge for you to brush your fucking teeth.
Like I said, shaddup, you tire me with your insanity. |

Tom take your meds ya fking ingrate looney.
All logic and reasoning just goes over your head, you think I promote xblock and ps because I am critical of valve steaming shitblock, no I merely point out that to a couch sitting console gamer the steambox offers hardly nothing at all compared to better exclusive titles made for xblock and ps market. And try not take something I say and turn it into your own demented garbage from which you spew your nonsense Might help if you learn to comprehend what a context is.
ALSO DRM IS FKING SHIT AND VALVE DID GET TO WHERE THEY ARE BY MANIPULATING GAMERS ONTO THE STEAM PLATFORM! "something that will never change" not with appeased idiots like you gladly taking a shafting. I suppose you like that crap looking steam controller with a great big shafting logo slapped on it. Not my taste.
"Haha, why would you spend $500 on a Steambox to use it as a NAS? This has to be the dumbest comment I've read on here in a while."
What's dumb you moronic twat, is that you decided to take one feature I mentioned that the linux steam os should be capable of alongside other things and thought it was a good laugh to compare it against existing NAS hardware and prices. |

Pointing out why you're a dope is not dumb, it's easy. Learn the difference. |

Linux does not support directX. What "PC" games are you going to play on steam box? OpenGL ones?
yea, right. |
