I am no fan of Sony. I hate them for robbing me of things I enjoyed on my PS3. I already avoid Sony in anything otherwise. It's not how to treat people and I too think it's manipulating justice to suit their needs. Shame to all investors etc who put money into a company like this. Funny how this news is not on prime time.

The only thing that annoys me is that they try to sound so cool about it and like "ooh we're so scary".

I'm not even convinced it's a good idea to make the Internet work worse, which is basically what they're doing, but could they at least try to sound like they're not 12 when they post their little manifestos?

What anonymous is doing may be wrong, but it feels right.
I like their activities.
For sure they're not 12 anymore, only 16yrs old pals might think that.
They use the world like they can, not like it is allowed to them, and the internet has to be free. That's what they defend.
U can't rape justice the way sony does with trying to get all the information they want: creditcard-data, twitter-login, and so on. Sony has NO right in collecting all this data.
So Anon go fuck Sony and PSN as long as you can, and anybody else like scienetologass. Be careful and don't get catched, but go on.

I don't care about hacking, I have enough knowledge to have a server running stable & fast on Linux, and I don't care about those lowlife tackling big "greedy corporations" that probably watch their "big corporation" TV's all day long, and spend their nights about targetting the next one while slurping their 6th 2liters Coca Cola bottle while doing so.

Going with the Hotz news first. He didn't flee the country, he is on a planned vacation (One that was paid for in November). Should also point out that this is a civil case, so he doesn't have to be in the country for it to proceed. Not sure if he has to be there for the verdict or not. He didn't sabotage his equipment, they just didn't send a controller card along with his hard drive to which this issue has been rectified (Not sure if they sent his or Sony just went to a store and purchased one). The serial number that Sony provided is being contended by Hotz's lawyer as not matching with the one that he purchased. And this is all just to bring the trial to California, which I'm guessing has laws that are more favorable to Sony much like Texas is to patent trolls.

As far as Anonymous goes, one only need to look at what it was able to do with HBGary and specifically Aaron Barr (Recommend reading the articles from Ars) to see what it is capable of when enough focus is placed on one target. Don't see the Sony thing lasting very long though as company wise the only thing they are guilty of are being a bunch of dicks to their customers and more specifically a guy who hacked back in a feature that they removed.
