Yeah, basically it was a "cutscenes rendered with the real-time engine" trailer which indeed does show some stuff about the engine, but does not qualify for a gameplay trailer nonetheless.
I hope what we watched was from the craponsole version. Dragon Age 1 is already 100 times better looking. |

The outdoor environment shown look bleak, maybe its the cinematic camera style that isn't showing as much, but just the color palette; grey, brown, light brown, dark brown, and oh varying shades of yellow and white. At least the indoor environments show some detail... comparing this trailer to the previous glimpse of the game, its at least not as bad.

yes, its almost like they got an entirely different dev team and had to start the doing the engine again from the things shown in this 2nd version. |

Easily pleased as usual with the pc's 'flashing lights' eh?
Underneath the graphics is STILL the same engine that powers the GAME. Baldurs Gate,Diablo# have inferior graphics, yet contain some of the BEST RPG experiences ever created.
Dragon Age origins 1 has never been about graphics, it's about empathy and emmersion. I have it on PC and PS3 but i bought it first on PS3 as i got the collectors edition very cheap. I got the PC version FREE from EA due the collectors edition music being put on a Blu-Ray disc which could only be played on a PC with a blu-ray player! (which i don't have) So EA would send out ALL owners that submitted their collectors key the collectors music in MP3 format on PC.
Having been able to play Dragon Age 1 on PC 1080p with all the bells and whistles, it still doesn't CHANGE the GAMEPLAY does it?
I never went "I must restart this game because it looks better"
I'm not and have never been easily pleased by graphics and have never bought intentionaly a game because it's got blood-on-the-lens-effects for those that go woooooooo!
Dragon age 1 and 2 is the SAME game on console or PC, with the SAME DLC.
Just some people are easily pleased and have to justify their hundreds of buck graphic card.....fact |

Will the Dragon Age 2 story react to the decisions I made in Dragon Age: Origins?
Yes. If you import your Origins playthroughs, you will experience the consequences of the choices you made previously. However, this is not necessary to fully experience Dragon Age 2.
One of the main reasons i bought both Mass Effect titles was that the characters and story interlinked, and you carried over your game save from 1 |
