A new patch (thanks VE3D) for Half-Life 2, Half-Life 2: Episode 1, Half-Life 2: Episode 2 and Portal improves performance when using anti-aliasing with ATI video cards, and also fixes a few other problems. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The major changes include:

Even without this patch, anyone on a modern-day system can obviously get over 100 fps in any HL2+ game. I got 80fps on my old 6800GS.
Still, nice to see dev's patching games many years later.

Correct! It was running at 200fps average on my OCed rig at 1920X1080+4XAA.

These video were made for testing purposes obviously.

Still, I believe that this performance enhancement, came while developing Episode 3 and Portal 2. I guess they discovered something.

Like I said, I have heard nothing and I have been privvy to a lot of things related to Valve development. Secrets only stay secrets for so long. The fact nothing has been leaked at all I'd say no EP3 or HL3, not for a while.
