| I was suckered into buying the sequel, man what a load of hype and trash. Admittedly it had a few cool gimmicks but that was short lived, thanks but no thanks. |

I liked the original, multiplayer was something different..
didn't like the 2nd one at all or changes to it , crap really..
maybe they will look at what they did right with the original
the game has potential but I think they'll waste it |

Ya really that's what got me on the sequel too. I agree Koogle, the first one was ok but after that it was the same old same old for me. I tried to get into the new MP and stuff and at the start there was a lot playing, but everyone vanished back to FEAR 1 MP and I just totally lost interest. Have to be a lot new in the next one to sucker me again... |

Them making just the FEAR1 MP free was a good idea, perhaps more were playing that . I have it installed but haven't played in a while. It really was a decent MP in the original, something different from COD4 which I think I was playing then.
As for FEAR2 I think it was the over usage of shader effects, gimmicky, less gritty, by that I don't mean that it didn't have blood, it just felt like it was a console targeted game (ie Consoletarded ), kinda lost the soul of the original. I think even maps were less memorable. And that mech was just stupid, how can I have any sense of feeling vulnerable in a game environment if you've got shit like to use. Rubbish bad changes all round basically. Guns looked a little better but perhaps too flashy, at the sametime the FOV just didn't feel right for them and satisfaction of using them was 'lackluster' experience which kinda sums up the game really.
Even the glass bullet shattering effects from FEAR1 vs FEAR2 looked more realistic in the first.
