HardOCP\'s Kyle took three new games (Bad Company 2, Supreme Commander 2, and Aliens vs. Predator) and ran them straight out of the box at default settings to see how they worked at 5760x1200:

Well, interesting but i find this technology pretty useless for gaming
3 Monitors playing FPS ?! with black "lines" from the monitor frames ?! With super duper FOV?!
No, thanks.... IMO!
And looking at this, and reading the thread for Ati blaming Nvidia for paying game developers to use psyhix, i wonder now if Ati payed the developers to optimize them games for this |

I personaly think that both the physx and the Eye-finity are just, poor, poor attempts to grab a fragment of an absolutely smothered market in gimmicks.
It's all been done before in one shape or another, just repeat after several years to fool another generation. Dual monitors, SLI, destructable environments etc. Stick another badge on it and market it
I game on a 46" LCD in 1080P, do you think i'm going to stick 3 46" together to give me a wrap around?? Or even WORSE, buy 3 bloody monitors that fill up half the room, just for GAMES!
At least with my 46" it's 7.1 and blu-ray and can be watched from 15ft away and not 1 FOOT
3D tv is already here, get bloody 3D games on them. Gaming on a 50+" 600Hz is the way to go. Amazingly they are not as expensive as i expected. You will also be able to watch TRUE 3D films as well as play on them. Unlike gimmicky physx or Eye-finity.
Point being, after games what do those monitors do exactly? hardly the fact they ALL get used and MOVED about the house do they -unless your sad. What a financial waste...
I can think of a lot more things to spend GOOD money on and those are not it. |

Hx, you should install some English translation thing on your site. English is an international language on planet Earth but some of the stuff you read here, it seems written by a 5 year old or someone who is seriously incapable of using many tools on the internet to fix their typing. Looks like caveman speak. I speak 3 languages fluently why can't others learn something so easy as English? sigh
More than 2 LCD's is ridiculous. There is such a thing as VNC, Remote Desktop, not to mention hardware switches. Talk about a waste of resources and energy. I use 2 x 24" screens and I access dozens of dissimilar systems on average a day.
At home I have 1 screen, it's all I need and I couldn't give a crap about spanning displays or 3d bs glasses. 3D tv is bs too. It's just another fad and I seriously doubt it will last beyond a year. I'll wait until 3d doesn't require glasses. My 52" TV at home is more than plenty so all Sony, Samsung and everyone else can blow me, I'm not about to be the next sheep to run to the store and upgrade my tv to 3d.. Pbbbt. |

Fact is is that 3DTV is early mainstream -unlike gimmicky PC attempts.
The World Cup is being shown in 3D, SKY Satellite 3D is very much FACT!
http://www.sky.com/shop/3d/home/
PS3 will play 3D
http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/31367/sony-ps3-3d-firmware-summer-2010
Films will be bought and viewed in 3D.
For that matter everyone said that HD TV was a fad, where is it today?? You wouldn't be playing HD gaming, nor watching HD films without it -other than on PC and a small monitor. Stuck with a STUPID CRT is what..
No Tom, gimmicks are what a SMALL minority buy into and what is nothing more than an advertising board outside your local GAME.
However,
When it starts changing everyones lives via broadcasts, (sport being a BIGGY) Consoles, satellite and TVs, that's when it becomes a bit more than a fad |
