Shacknews has details on RAGE from the August cover story on Game Informer Magazine, painting a picture unlike any previous id game. Rage is due to arrive on PC, Xbox 360 PlayStation 3, and Mac \uot;when it\'s fun and when it\'s done,\uot; which definitely won\'t be this year but might be before 2011.

| That's a little retarded to say? I have PC and console, so I'm a n00b because I have both?! PC is dying, nobody wants to admit it, almost everyday you see the signs PC days are over yet people sit there and lie to themselves that PC will live on. I have a good laugh when I read an article from someone trying to make some sort of logical notion that PC is alive and flourishing or why PC isn't dying. It is dying, just not to those in denial. It will live, for business and internet. Console = $ PC = Theft and Loss of Profit. If you want to make as much money you can, then clearly putting it on console and making sure the console controller works really well would be an obvious and logical approach to securing those profits. Honestly, I'm not happy about this news but it's not like a shocker. |

you shouldn't take the n00b talk that seriously.. though if you prefer to play an FPS with a controller over a mouse&keyboard setup... then yes you could be a noob.
And whats retarded is what on earth made you think I think PC gaming is alive and flourishing? I'm not in denial here.. its cleary being dying for years. And quite frankly I think too much of the blame is easily put on piracy when really its a lot of other factors.
PC gaming could be doing a lot better sure ... but obviously its much easier to develop (to a lesser standard) and target a game for the mass market.. where you don't have to do a better job on the game or provide later support/patches update etc..compete with mods third party addons etc.. in order to get a profit.. I can see that.
My comment was just trashing iD software for weakness that they have become. A big fat disappoint in any long time pc FPS gamers eyes.
I don't need to admit pc gaming is dying.. I don't even care..I'll buy good games as and when they come out .....if that just means it will take longer for a decent one to come so be it.. less competition in the pc market will mean more profit for the right game developers to take advantage of and listen to what pc gamers want. |

the only reason the console marked is growing while the pc marked is pretty much staying the same is because consoles are easy enough to be used by a monkey.
the only other difference is controllers and well sony and ms both shot themselves in the foot in that department. that why Nintendo is selling twice as many consoles as ms and sony combined.
and if anything, having a cracked console helps seeling it since both the wii and xbox360 have been cracked for ages and you can download all games with ease.
why so many people enjoy fps games on consoles is beyond me, no matter how you put it analog sticks allways fall behind a mouse and keyboard setup.
unless you totally gut the shooter to make it controller friendly like gears of war, which felt like a complete piece of shit on the PC because of it.
i cant remember another shooter i erased on the second lvl. |

Wow, I could dance with joy whenever I hear about a game being developed primarily for consoles, because it means a solid, well written storyline and deep philosophical thoughts abound in every game.
You can also bet that they will spend a lot of time tuning the useless controller centric scheme to more PC suited input devices once they got it working on consoles. /sarcasm
Not that I really expected ID to deliver that, but somehow everything consoles touch turns into either a ghetto thugfest or a game that a dog that's chewing on a controller could play.
Oh, yes, and why does everything have to use checkpoints now? There was a time where you could save where ever the fuck you wanted, and now suddenly you have to replay everything 25 times because you died 2 feet away from the checkpoint or had to turn off because you had to leave.
Sort of a funny design decision when you get 1 TB hds thrown after you and even consoles have harddisks nowadays.
Thank you consoles, for this important source of frustration and artificial game lengthening. |
