Since Tom's are using the 97.46 (half-assed RTM driver) for their setup I'm not surprise. 100.30 or even better the rumored 100.50 will get you millimeteres near the performance of XP.

I refuse to pay $300 for Windows. Sorry, but I will find 'other means' of getting it. I'm not buying some upgrade crap either or online download...no thanks and everything I hear about Vista and games, it all sucks.

Turns out I'm getting the best version in 64bit for free! How about that eh? It wont even be a pirate version. Still not going to use it(unless 360 integration does something worthwhile), but can't sell it... Nuts....
