You know what would be interesting, if a system like this got to the point where it required you to point a webcam at your monitor in order to play... that way there would be no way you could cheat.

I guess there might be performance impacts do to disk access, but with all the dualcore cpus and raid disk arrays, it might not be that bad.

They could even have a water mark system where if your webcam was turned away from the monitor you would disconnect.

The feed could just be sent to your harddrive, as a failsafe to prove you weren't cheating. If noone suspects you, the feed could be deleted.

Is that an insane idea? right now? probably... a few years down the line, maybe not. Depends how bad cheating gets in systems like this.

I for one would love the opportunity to put 5 bucks down that I can beat some punks in a fragfest. and reap a very small fortune if I can.

A few years back this is why we used to do all the time at my friend's house when he held lans. He would do a few games based around betting. It was fun. Very Happy
