Downloadable content is subjective to say the least...
It works in the USA because it's a mass market, it's not to say it's a success -far from it. But because of the huge population numbers you will always make a profit.
On the otherhand outwith the US there is no way that a huge dev would make any profit from solely selling a game by internet only. The other half of the problem is it's *you* that get's screwed if their servers get hacked and your account get's stolen. They don't give a toss (i'm sure there is small miopic print somewhere within VALVE that will contain such protection for themselves) We tend to be more wary and savy of identity fraud here; It's not for nothing that the US is the most 'cyber attacked' city in the world.
Me personaly will continue to stop financialy supporting companies that support episodic content. It's blatant ripoff! It encourages laziness within the company -come on! (near enough)ONE copy sitting on a server being downloaded worldwide...... A tweak here, there and you have another 'episode'. It's rediculous paying half the price of a FULL game for 4hours extra content -unless of course it's paid for by parents or stolen. These are probably the REAL figures.
The other factors are the M$ theory of only allowing content to be transfered finite number of times and to be connected to the internet when playing SP.
It's kids that are fueling this monster! |

Of course i'm 'speaking' to Gordon Freeman himself! Or is it the PLANK! He's everywhere around the world at the same time. He KNOWS exactly what the economy is in YOUR country, despite the fucking fact he lives in Canada!! He knows that EVERYONE has a basement -"With half a brain" and should keep their console in it.
He's buying me Crysis because HE KNOWS it's my 'god game'
It's 'fellow european followers AGREE with anything he says'
These are his stupid demented quotes to ME above.
Then he quotes this:

This can you believe it; is a fellow human being. It lives and breathes yet can't function outside the internet nor would it be recognised outside it's bedroom!
This is like some 2nd incarnation of Hitler that WANTS recognition and anyone that DARES have an opinion outside his own is talked down with utter bullshit!
I'll ask again;
"You sure your going on 40years old, Or has school finished early and you've just had a 'wished i was grown up' moment?"
I haven't a clue what produces keystrokes for you 'cause it aint braincells for sure. Remember you DON'T read my posts; that is so blatantly obvious. Your 'effort' above reads like someone butting in on a coversation about the weather and YOU being paranoid and having a 'conspiracy' moment!
Go and seek help eh? Drinking to much? doing drugs? mental health probs? Too much time in front of the XBox, speaking to children with higher IQ's than yourself? There's tons of help...or their SHOULD be for you!!
Canada is hardly central to Europe... and your in NO position to patronise me or anyone for that matter.
Scool tomorrow; "I must find out what countries are in Europe" Clue Canada isn't one of them.
Class dismissed! |
