The chaps over at

ExtremeTech  have posted an article called 'Real Gaming Challenge Rematch: Intel vs. AMD'. No $1000 CPUs. No dual $500 graphics cards. No insanely high or ridiculously low graphics settings. No timedemos. This time they take a typical mass-market system and play games normally

We've lauded the game performance of AMD's CPUs for a long time, and they didn't get any slower with the introduction of Intel's Core 2 lineup, just less expensive.

Which is why 10fps here or there doesn't bother me one bit with regard Intel -but money does!. AMD are superb overclocking CPUs coupled with the right mobo your in gaming heaven!

Out of that list i'm playing Oblivion -and have been for over 130hrs- so no difference then between Intel & AMD Laughing

Well based on my research the cost is the same for 6600 or 5000 and actually less for the Intel based on MSRP. If Intel is already faster then u'd have to tweak the 5000 quite a bit. Intel is not dead in the overclocking area too. But like me, I'm already AMD so chances of going to Intel anytime soon is slim as my mobo can take practically anything AMD as it is.
