Where do they find quotes like this????
| Quote: | | Now, it's time to crank up the resolution to 1280x1024. although at this resolution all of our boards from the 7800 GT downwards are struggling to provide a playable framerate |
I'm playing it 1280x1024 (or even a weird 1360x768 but it's too stretched but i'm NOT limited to 1280x1024 which is my point) with x16AF and i'm getting constant 35fps. (even higher in enclosed areas) 'Struggle'????? i don't think so! I think the reviewer needs to try updating drivers; 84.43 for starters.
| Quote: | NVIDIA ForceWare 84.21 was used for testing on all NVIDIA boards, utilising the driver's High Quality mode.
| herein lies the problem!
NO mention of sound card was used either? *another* major impact on fps -as i mentioned before in post; update the OpenAL driver (if you use Audigy or XFi) HUGE boost to fps was gained.
Same/simiar specs as the reviewers;
AMD Athlon 64 3500+
1GB PC3200 DDR-RAM
ASUS A8N-E nForce4 motherboard
So please if your going to post a damning test at least check out forums (UBI GRAW) since this old news -it's your drivers that are at fault NOT the card....... |
