Hardware Unboxed built a compact mini-ITX gaming PC as a faster alternative to Valveâ??s Steam Machine. The small 4.5-liter system used a low-profile RTX 5060 and Ryzen 5 7500F for better 1440p performance. While frame rates were solid with upscaling, the PC ran very hot and forced fans to extreme speeds.

| There's a reason the Steam Machine has limited power. That reason is obviously to keep it cool and quiet in your living room. People talk like Valve couldn't make a power monster, of course they could. That's not the point of the Steam Machine. |

| This is what happens when a clueless bunch tries to build a silent PC. |

That’s like your insinuating that nobody can build a quiet monster of a PC other than valve
The fact that I and millions of others can, make a very quiet PC is also down to the hardware. For example my GPU doesn’t even bother with its 3 fans until something worthwhile wakes it up
Valve sticks its hardware in a stupid box. That’s an idiotic design selling point. Nothing else.
The thing hits 95C! My gpu under max load hits 38c and my CPU 58c
We can build caseless PCs that will run super cool and look cool to-boot.
Same with audio amps with valves, these are very often open design.
Valve just sell to the sheep and a generation (or two) that no longer even know how a pc works, let alone build one from scratch and source all the best hardware.
5 year warranty on gpu
5 year warranty on cpu
5 year warranty on motherboard
5 year warranty on SSD
6 year warranty on WD Black HDD(s)
5 year warranty on PSU
Valve warranty 1 year! Plus I built all that for LESS than valves stupid cube! And 32 gb DDR 5 |
