I remember how Sony launched the PlayStation 3 console in 2006 with official support for Linux via the “OtherOS” feature, which it subsequently removed in April 2010 with firmware version 3.21, citing security concerns related to hacking and piracy. Users who installed the update permanently lost Linux support, while those who refused the update lost access to the PlayStation Network and newer games.
I remember your comments from back then, when you wrote that you’d never buy anything from Sony again in your life, that they’re bastards. |
