They probably aren't slowing it down on purpose, it's more that they just don't care and are doing the bare minimum now that they're retiring the OS anyway.
Also, the Clown there had better be joking about Bill Gates, the guy is like 90 and not exactly working at Microsoft anymore.
But yeah, I still run one Windows instance at home and that's my gaming rig. I've just been too lazy to deal with it. But I'll probably dual boot Manjaro KDE and an empty Windows 11 if I need to run some online game once in a blue moon. |

I am running Windows 10 on all PCs at home, I haven't noticed any slowdown in gaming or productivity apps.
Microsoft would be shooting into its own legs with this move, accelerating migration to Linux. I doubt this is what they want.
Their best bet at this point is keeping people around on Windows 10 and 11 while their fix their shit in Windows 12. Windows 12 will only sell if it's more like Windows 10 and nothing like Windows 11. If Windows 12 does not deliver that, well, lacking any alternative, it's going to be Linux from there. |
