AGEIA has sent over the first screenshots showing off Warmonger, the upcoming Unreal Engine 3 based first person shooter from developer NetDevil that will have highly destructible enviroments and support the AGEIA PhysX hardware processor.
  • The Crossing Q&A - 1Up.com has posted the first online Q&A for The Crossing - In the simplest sense, story missions are single-player shooting with an exception: Naturally intelligent human opponents take the place of A.I. There are two types of players: Elites and skirmishers. Elites are gamers playing the game in story mode. They're beefed up, heavily armored, and heavily armed. They have to be able to hold their own against a swarm of skirmish players. Skirmishers are gamers who typically play on multiplayer maps: well-trained, rank-and-file soldiers playing primarily to have some quick fun and increase their rank through defeating the occasional Elite. Skirmish players can also invade story maps and "possess" A.I.s ala Agent Smith in The Matrix....To those looking for something a little less textually based, there is also a new trailer up courtesy of GameVideos.
  • Xpand Rally Xtreme Q&A - SimRacingWorld has posted an interview with Adrian Ciszewski, product manager at Techland, talking about their new title, Xpand Rally Xtreme which is due for release later this year. The interview touches on quite a few topics, including their reaction to Richard Burn's Rally, what's been improved in the new title, and more detailed information about the game.
  • War Front: Turning Point movie - Another new movie trailer for War Front: Turning Point is now online to show off the imminent alternate-history World War II 3D real-time strategy game by Digital Reality.
  • Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 video - There is a new movie trailer for Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2, showing the upcoming squad-based tactical shooter sequel by GRIN in motion. The clip can be found on 3D Downloads, 3DGamers, FileFront, GameTrailers, and WP.
  • New Microsoft Train Simulator revealed - There's a new train comin'" states the Microsoft Train Simulator Website, where they're revealing that a new version of Microsoft Train Simulator is in the works.
  • Ship Sim 2006 Patches - Lighthouse Interactive has released new patches for Ship Simulator 2006, bringing all editions of this civilian naval and harbor simulation by VStep to version 1.7.
  • The SoulKeeper: Descent of an Empire Announced - Straight from Helm Systems, developers of the Unreal Tournament 2004 modification, The Soulkeeper, comes a mysterious new project titled The SoulKeeper: Descent of an Empire. There's not much public information about the project yet, but they are looking for a few additions to their team.
  • New Half-Life 2 CSS SCI - CSS SCI FI mixes random generation of enemies and resources with map-specific scripting to create a fully realised and readily replayable game. The scripts used to achieve this were originally conceived by the SMOD author and have been expanded and elaborated to create a new HL2 SMOD experience.
  • Bungie Update - Halo 3 Dialogue plans - The Bungie Weekly Update went live tonight, as it usually does on Friday evenings - and if you're looking for things to drool over, give this one a read. Sounds like Campaign is coming along nicely, and that the stuff they have planned for dialogue: "With any luck, we should be bringing back the incredible voice talent of Jeff Steitzer to threepeat his epic MP vocals. That recording session is coming up pretty soon, and the actor is going to have to say some pretty bizarre lines. And you guys are going to have to do some pretty bizarre shizzle to find them."
  • Fallout 3 heading to Xbox 360? - In an exclusive interview with the UK Official Xbox Magazine, Bethesda have revealed more details about Fallout 3, the legendary post-apocalyptic RPG franchise they took over in 2004: Speaking to Todd Howard (Executive producer of Oblivion, Morrowind and Fallout) with regard to Bethesda's plans for 2007 and beyond, he told us; "We started work (on Fallout 3) in late 2004 with a few people. We only had about 10 people on it until Oblivion wrapped, but most of our staff is on it now." Is it wishful thinking that Fallout 3 will eventually be released on Microsoft's next-gen machine? With the game itself utilising the same Gamebryo engine as Oblivion, perhaps not. And promised to be as huge and open-ended as their multi-award winning 2006 effort, demand for Fallout 3 on the Xbox 360 would be huge." "We have pretty long preproduction phases on our stuff," continues Howard "doing concepts, design, building prototypes, and such. We should be ready soon to show it off, but we'll see."   • Two Worlds Coming To Xbox 360 - Southpeak Interactive has announced that Two Worlds, the upcoming fantasy RPG from developer Reality Pump Studios and publisher Topware, will be released for the Xbox 360 this spring. The game is still coming out for the PC platform.
  • RoboBlitz Postmortem - Gamasutra is featuring a postmortem by Naked Sky concerning their UE3 budget title, RoboBlitz.
  • Crackdown Demo Set For Tuesday - The Major Nelson website now has the word that the Xbox 360 demo for Crackdown, the upcoming open world action game from developer Real Time Worlds, is now set for release on Tuesday. Jan 23 for Xbox Live Gold members. The retail version of Crackdown will be available in the UK on 23rd February.
  • Gears Of War Sales Reaches 3 Million Copies - Microsoft sent over a press release promoting the fact that the Epic Games developed Xbox 360 exclusive action title Gears of War has now reached sales of 3 million copies worldwide
  • Hostel Director To Make Games? - This Yahoo Videogames Q&A with movie director Eli Roth reports that the writer-director of Cabin Fever and Hostel is looking to get involved in game development.

I think it's awesome and great for the game. PC is becoming the last restort, junk box for developers. Just a hell of a lot more cost effective both pre- and post- delivery of the game.

I have to disagree entirely with what you said though.
I hope you are able to make a logical distinction between the PC and Console gaming market, and realise the shear hate that the Fallout community will have if this ends up being a total flop.
The game will essentially be dumbed down, because a company like Bethesda will not focus two very different versions for two markets, they will have to sacrifice the freedom they have with PC games in order to produce one that will work flawlessly on BOTH platforms.
It's plain to see, Oblivion was pure eye-candy in the eyes of an Xbox user, and the companies stand-point was "Console gamers do not have the time to grasp a complicated RPG, hence we will have to introduce a ridiculous levelling system".
It should not be left to the modders community to fix the errors of game developers! that is why Oblivion is a 'special case' so to speak.
These kind of compromises only stunt creativity in respect to such a massive RPG like Fallout.
I have my serious doubts, but if they manage to pull this one off, it will probably go down in history as a momentous occasion.
