Things like this to me have no place in my lifestyle. My phone has mp3 support and my car does too. At home my PC powers all audio through my home entertainment system. Dedicated MP3 player? I see little point. I guess if you jog and stuff it would be worth it.

The usefulness of dedicated MP3 players depends entirely on your working environment and how often you like to listen to music when you're out.
Some people would prefer to preserve their phone battery for call-time rather than MP3 music.
I personally use my Nintendo DS as an MP3 player if I'm not playing Castlevania or Lost in Blue Very Happy
