About the whole 1080p/4k thing: Who is this "professional industry" and why do they need 4k so badly? Does 4k equal the quality of film for example?
I'm all for incredibly high resolutions, as I've been running at 1600x1200 ever since my graphics card could support it, but I think the first step to higher resolutions above 1080p is to create an operating system with a vector based GUI. Gunna need something a little bigger than Blu-ray or HD-dvd to hold a movie in that format. Even with the best non-lossy compression that would still be an enormous amount of data. |
