Yeah, releasing a new Episode every year makes it seem like they just rehash the same game. Valve should do what Epic does: release a new 'year' every year like Half-Life 2: 2004, Half-Life 2: 2005, Half-Life 2: 2006, Half-Life 2: 2007... That way you know 2005 is completely different from 2004... it's an entirely different number!

At least Valve didn't outsource for a 3rd-party developer to rehash HL2 a for a sequel (*cough Unreal 2 cough*)...

Paying $20 for an episode of gaming that lasts around 4hrs, then drip feed the masses another one in 3-6months time? Very clever..if your the dev doing it. Thick as shit if your the muppet out there buying into it!

Very litte effort needs put into -what is essentialy- a mod. It's not a game!
The game has already been shipped to suck you into the licensed addon cesspit.

We've been doing our own mods since Doom and making BETTER levels than the devs with their own engine. You idiots out there wouldn't buy a mod made by a talented guy in his bedroom (but you'll happily download it for free!) But slap a VALVE logo on it and you go all weak at the knees and it's a 'must have' Two faced or what... Rolling Eyes

Gaming is getting fucked by bedroom lizards that just live for their next fix - a mouse click away- with the attention span of a mouse click! And fat arses too lazy to go out and buy a quality game.

Anything that is quality AND lasts more than a couple of brain cells can handle, is instantly dissed as being 'crap' because it's just tooo hard for 'johny' to concentrate on and make a judgement on.

No wonder the gaming world is riddled with shit 'quick fix' games in the top 20 -bar class stuff like Oblivion/Morrowind etc or the Medieval series.
