THIS is why piracy will always win.
Its 100% offline ALL the time, no forced online to get a license, just start and play.
And majority of the time the hackers to hack these games find breaks like this and patch them themselves which is something the game devs never do.

There are MANY games that are broken and a hack to make it offline is the fix all thanks to a hacker NOT the devs who created the game or denovo which are the cause of the problem.

Denovo is hte worst thing for games. it forces MANY people to piracy. Some get the pirated version of the game they paid for as its the only way to play it.
Not everyone has a good internet connection.
I had none at home at one stage, I had to go driving and sat in my car for hours as I used an open wifi connection I found. I have nio idea who it was, I was at the beach one day and it was open so I connected and kept going back to get games. Took hours but thats all I had back then. No chance of anything online as I had nio internet at home.

Now, they are forcing online for singleplayer games. thats the stupidest thing ever. This is the perfect example.
When the crack comes out THATS how you fix it PROPERL then you can enjoy the game you paid for, if you paid for it.
