The source is D-TEST 25/11/ magazine – it's not free and it's all in Czech, but I'm sending you a quote below. Their tests are pretty good, a lot of it is accurate, they really do chemical analyses and so on.

"A whole range of currently tested
headphones have also undergone classic
testing in the past, focusing primarily
on sound quality. We can therefore
look at how the results of chemical
analyses and sound tests match up.
We can reveal right away that we
found no correlation between the two
results. It is therefore impossible to say that
chemically clean headphones generally sound better.
An example of this can be seen in the
seven models with the best sound ratings,
which were included in this test in addition to the standard
test. Five of them
fell into the red category in the chemical test
(Sennheiser Momentum
Wireless 4, Bose QuietComfort
Headphones, Jabra Elite 10 Gen 2,
Sennheiser Accentum True Wireless,
and Sony Noise Cancelling WF-
1000XM5). Only two are green
(Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds
and JBL Tour Pro 3). Even products
from the same brand were not all the same
in terms of their overall chemical rating.
The only exception The only exception
was Apple. In the chemical
test, both of its representatives achieved a green
rating and also performed well
in terms of sound quality. "
