I foresee a market where GPUs are sold without memory and people can stick in whatever modules they want.
Not that I would buy a GPU this bad.

We've already had that market in the 90's
We had a 2mb SE in our PC that had two sockets for upgrading to 4 mb

Otherwise, I still think nostalgically about my first Voodoo2 card... and that feeling when I first saw the game Unreal. Probably the only thing that compares (in terms of feeling) is when I first heard music from a CD. Just incredible dynamics and a wow effect.
