As I’ve been saying for ages. Gaming is up to its eyes in shit. It’s the biggest downturn in its history. I read daily of studios laying off staff, it’s not just the ‘big boys’, the whole sector is shafted. ‘Remaster this, remake that’. It’s absolute dire. Recycling garbage doesn’t sell anything. But they sure as hell are charging astronomical prices for it.
Then companies continually release half baked crap -expecting the punter to accept it at FULL price, then think it's normal to release patches the size of the game -ala Cyberpunk and MindsEye https://80.lv/articles/build-a-rocket-boy-ceo-blames-mindseye-s-struggles-on-saboteurs

The Early Access mode that steam think is normal, isn't fit for purpose by any shape or definition. Regardless of what they put up as 'terms and conditions'.

There's LOADS of indie companies on steam going tits up, because the publisher bins them if they don't instantly make a profit.
Make something, finish it! Then sell it!! If you can't do either, then you shouldn't be making games. Scrounging off the stupid Gen X lot to get money first is far to long in the tooth now. It's had it's day.

You wonder why GPUs are half baked, because of cost. If it ain’t moving it’s costing money and jobs and nobody’s buying either in the quantities going back 5-6 years ago
So they make them and they are stripped down to the basics, because it is the only way punters will buy. Even then it’s all 1080/1440 gaming, nothing more. When will they get it through their consumeristic thick heads that people are hanging on to their hardware longer and longer.

Nobody cares about quality anymore, As the saying goes;
'they know the price of everything, but the value of nothing'.

Gaming is heading for a huge ,huge upset. It cannot sustain itself and dev's are pushing the wrong buttons by thinking it has loopholes like steam's pathetic 2hr window and your lumbered with an unsupported pile of shit.

Like in the 90's i voted with my wallet. It's not any different now except it's a shit revokable license
