No patches, fine.
However, I'd expect either that
- the latest Windows 7 Steam client will be made available for download and Steam won't break backwards compatibility
- Steam will make all games to date available for download that runs without the Steam client.
Else, it's going to be a class-action lawsuit. |

| Quote: | | We strongly encourage all Windows 7/8/8.1 users to update sooner rather than later. Microsoft ended security updates and technical support for Windows 7 in January 2020 and for Windows 8.1 in January 2023. Computers running these operating systems, when connected to the internet, are susceptible to new malware and other exploits which will not be patched. That malware can cause your PC, Steam and games to perform poorly or crash. That malware can also be used to steal the credentials for your Steam account or other services. |
I think they spelled it out. In other words, if your infected/hacked or loose your steam account/games. Then they absolve themselves from blame as the buck stops with OS support which there’s none of.
The exact same applies to online banking.
Your bank states what OS you *must* be using and if your compromised they can get that detail from your ISP To work out if you do indeed get protection payment or if your fraudulently trying to deceive the bank.
Best thing you do is play offline with Win 7, anything more and your just playing with fire. |
