It's obviously a marketing gimmick from Intel to make 12th and 13th gen owners upgrade to 14th gen.
Problem is, they won't throw away their perfectly good CPUs for just two games.
This fix needs to be universal for all apps and games.
Any task that does not utilize the difference between a proper core and a shit core should be offloaded to the shit core.
That would free up the much-needed proper cores these CPUs actually lack.

Anyway, it's game-specific, so I don't see this as a fix at all - I think it's just another nail into the Intel coffin.

Same happened with 3rd gen i5s. They disabled hyperthreading on them.
Though someone managed to unlock his by a fluke.

If I recall that correctly, Intel did that on purpose because hyperthreading was unstable at times, they could not fix it, so they disabled instead of having to deal with a lot of support requests. Hyperthreading became stable with the 4th gen CPUs.

Following that logic, Intel might release a gen15 CPU which will run at >6GHz and have this shit core issue fixed as yet another marketing gimmick.
They keep digging themselves deeper and deeper into the grave.
I am happy that AMD is giving them a run for their money, lol
They deserve nothing less.
