A lot of people still did not pick up the Mass Effect trilogy because of the EA crap included.
EA prefers having their software pirated, it seems, lol
Same thing will happen with this new game - however unexciting it may be.

That's like saying 'A lot of people didn't buy Assassins Creed, Far Cry,Watchdogs,Tom Clancy, The Crew, Prince of Persia etc,etc because of the UBI app. Like that's BOLLOCKS!
That's a silly view in anyone's book.

Yeah, these are the idiots that sponsor such companies.
And how many do you think would have bought it with out the built-in junk?
I'd expect those numbers to be much higher.
Instead, they create a large camp of pirates.

If you read through the lengthy Steam thread, you will a lot of discussions around
a) those who bought the game can't actually run it (because of the launcher). There's some technical issue, lol
b) EA did not include this launcher in their newer titles, so they do not understand why it can't be dropped from an older product.
To me, these suggest that once again, the paying customers got the short stick. Those who download a cracked game don't have these issues at all, lol
So, you decide whether you want to pay for a defunct game (however cheap it might be) or go the pirate way and be a happy player.
It used to be Plug and Play, now it's just Pay or Play, lol
A lot of consumers don't realize the power they have if they all stick to their principles and choose not to support EA's junkware...
