And since these robots are expected to be the first soldiers to kill humans (terminators, cylons...), the war between robots and humans will eventually happen anyway...

Actually, from what I heard, an AI is smarter than a human, so it would never start a direct war.
It will, however, create a conflict enabling humans to destroy themselves without even knowing they are being manipulated by an AI.
Just think about it - all it takes is a) fake information in a way that it convinces a superpower that another superpower has launched its nuclear arsenal, and b) wait for the super-power to launch its own nuclear arsenal.
Heck, they don't even need to do that - they can just disable a few critical systems - electricity and water. People will start getting sick and dying off really quick.
Check-mate, humans gone.
Collect the defenseless survivors and make them slaves.
I hope these AI developers will be the last to go, painfully and agonizingly so they realize their monumental mistake and suffer for it.
One can only hope the machines will let plants and animals live in peace - they did nothing wrong.
