The i7 4770 and 4790 can currently be had for extremely cheap (even on ebay), and at these prices it can make for an exceptionally good budget gaming pc. Today we couple this CPU with the RTX 2060 Super 8GB and check it out in some games

Yep, still using this. 4790K though at stock speed (no overclock).
Paired with a 3060Ti, it runs everything with high detail, including Cyberpunk in 2560x1600.
As you can see in the video, the 4790K still has plenty of headroom - it is the GPU holding things back.
As said it many times, benchmarking CPUs based on games is really schtoopid.
Things are not that cheap in the EU though, so it would cost more here.
I wonder when the i7-14700k reaches USD30 - I'm sure it won't take a decade, lol |
