AMD has released the Radeon Software Adrenalin 23.10.1 driver for its graphics cards (weâ??ll have a separate story for it later today). Among other things, this driver enables Anti-Lag+ on the RX 7000 series GPUs for Counter-Strike 2. However, Valve has publically stated that the usage of Anti-Lag+ will get you banned

I dont play it either and this makes me glad I dont.

It also sounds like Valve and their game is the problem not AMD as they allow nvidia to do it but not AMD?

Valve should fix their game as thats where the problem is. Its not AMDs problem its the game so I will happily boycott that game, everyone should do the same.
They screwing over AMD then lets screw them over and not play it and tell everyone else to not play it. They will fix their game soon enough if we boycott it.

The article has already said that Nvidia doesn’t tamper with game code, whereas AMD does. lol

Quote:
Counter-Strike 2 currently supports NVIDIA Reflex. Contrary to AMD’s Anti-Lag+, NVIDIA Reflex does not tamper with the game’s source code, so you can safely use it.

The game is trashware, I agree.

However, in principle, I think this is unfair to AMD.
When a game is optimized for NVidia cards, it makes sense for AMD to provide improvement - and it's mighty nice of them to do so.
Much like Sound Blaster does with their own enhancements for customers playing using their cards.
If I were AMD, I'd make a legal case against Valve for limiting performance of their products and thereby giving a preference to NVidia and thus, ultimately distorting the market.

as I wrote, the current implementation of the Anti-Lag+ feature supposedly tampers the CS2 code....which I guess I understand Valve doesn't like, then someone could abuse it. I probably wouldn't look for anything more behind it.

Thank you Sabot that you noticed it Wink

What’s the point of an article if your not going to read it properly and take the relevant info you need out of it. Wink
Btw I emailed you the “Unity boss resigns” article, but you’re clearly not getting them even with your name in the header?? So I just post them in the forum.
