The real problem at the moment is that the prices for low and mid range cards are way too high. There are no decent cards available for less than $200 unless you buy second hand.

I remember a time when people were comparing video cards based on performance.
Too bad lately it's all about the price.

I think the sales figures for the TITAN X back in 2015 are to blame for the gradual price hike trend.

But then again, a lot of things are shooting up in price now, even eggs and butter.

Apparently, we have no choice but to get fucked in the a$$.

The title kind of suggests that there are cards under $300 that are worth buying. That's not the case. 200~300 $ range cards are now 600+, 100~250 range is over 400... nVidia can have them all.
I was thinking about a ~250 euro 6600XT, turns out, it's ~400 euro or more in Germany. Entry level gaming card from two years ago is ~400 euro. 400 euro.

Imagine if Radeon rx 560 was suggested to you for ~400 euro back then. nVidia 1060 for ~400 euro... Yea.

That's the only way I'm afraid, but there will always be the rich minority that encourage Nvidia for all the wrong reasons.
