Kotaku has posted
pretty interesting article on Xbox 360 pricing:
Let me get this straight, for $300 I can get an Xbox 360, but it won't play closer to $650. Here's the break-down:
Xbox 360 Standard: $399.99
Gold Xbox Live Subscription: At least $49.99 (Likely more.)
Wireless Networking Adapter: $99.99

What a ripoff huh? a whole gaming system, top of the line gfx, some amazing games coming for it. Ripoff. How much is a 7800 or a ATI 850 PE? Not a ripoff? Pffffff How about fact a VIDEO CARD for a PC can cost more than ur motherboard, CPU and memory? Not a ripoff? Does console need to be upgrade 6 months later? Yes, I agree. Let the idiots that are willing to spend 650 spend 650. If people didn't go out buying video cards for 800 bucks, we would have customary prices today starting at this price. Unfortunately there's idiots born every day.
needless to say, you can take ur console to ur friends house much easier than ur pc. u got no game patches, it's buy a game play it forever. no sound cards to mess around in, no required "monitor" to play can use a TV, HDTV etc etc.
Sure PC does higher resolution but obviously with Xbox and it's HDTV capabilities and from what I seen, in some cases it appears better than a PC game.
$650 is reasonable considering the technologies and capabilities of the box. And might I add, convenience. What amazes me is how a Video card that sells for a PC, modern one can cost upwards of 600 bucks! Yet a console with a video card capable of doing all the cool Fx you can do on a pc is bundled in a box, with HD, cpu sound etc and yet everyone can tolerate that ATI and nVidia are gouging you at the computer store but complain when u can get a amazing small box that plays some pretty damn cool games and only costs the fraction of a PC. Now that baffles me. I think the PC community is just getting more and more dumb. It's a wonder anyone will buy a pc, anymore, much less go through the joke of upgrading their video card. |

XXXX I know you have a knack for being a little over-zealous with your replies sometimes, I really meant to say that I'm going to wait for the price to drop before spending the kind of cash I'd spend on upgrading my PC, for a console.
But yeah, my comment was exaggerated, don't take it the wrong way. |

| WTF why does it even have a WIRED controller at all?? I hate that you have to pay an extra $100 so that you can enjoy what little innovation there was between old and next gen in terms of interface. |

Neither. I have a couch, and I don't want a child's toy.
Next question, please. |
